In these posts I will cover my travels around the Ontario region following the girls fastpitch team, the Pickering Heat, as they embark on their quest for a chance to compete at the National level, representing Ontario. Good luck ladies! Routine PlaysThe Pickering Heat's defense was solid throughout the tournament. Here, second base Tonina makes a routine play on a hard hit grounder. _CB35831 Outstanding EffortPickering Heat's left fielder Rachel puts an end to the oppositions hopes of a double. _CB36175-Edit Pretty in PinkIt was Pink in the Park day at the U16 Provincials in Guelph, ON. The Pickering Heat, although they didn't qualify for Nationals, get top marks for being the only team to openly support the drive to end breast cancer. The team, decked in their raspberry pink uniforms, look on as their fellow teammate Danielle prepares to blast one into the field. _CB35970 U-16 ProvincialsI am traveling to Guelph, Ontario for the U-16 Tier 1 Grand Championship girls fastpitch provincials. Put on by the Provincial Women's Softball Association of Ontario (PWSA) and held at the Guelph Lakes Facility from July 26-28, 2013. Twelve teams are competing for a chance to go to Nationals that are to be held in Prince Edward Island from August 7-11, 2013. I will be showcasing Pickering Heat......stay tuned for daily updates on all the action.
